An ex-NASA engineer helped develop the in-house computer control system used to cure the carbon fiber\/epoxy prepreg, maintaining 150\u00b0F within \u00b1 3\u00b0F across the mast length.<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-193 ms-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/compmillennia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/2-700x300.jpg\" height=\"300\" width=\"700\" alt=\"\" class=\"slider-134 slide-193\" title=\"2\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><p style=\"color:#FF0000;\"><b>Digital Cure Management<\/b><\/p>\r\nIn 2008-2009, Compmillennia produced 3,000 ft of carbon fiber\/epoxy prepreg beams (50- to 115-ft long) for the 463-ft megayacht Swift 141 (now named Yas) using a computer-managed controller wired to thermistor temperature sensors and heating elements.<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-194 ms-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/compmillennia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/3-700x300.jpg\" height=\"300\" width=\"700\" alt=\"\" class=\"slider-134 slide-194\" title=\"3\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><p style=\"color:#FF0000;\"><b>Cure Controller<\/b><\/p>\r\nThe heated tooling was divided into six 20-ft zones, with six thermistors each, which allowed a quick visual scan of the computer during cure to ensure temperatures were within set limits during the 24-hr cure cycle.<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-195 ms-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/compmillennia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/4-700x300.jpg\" height=\"300\" width=\"700\" alt=\"\" class=\"slider-134 slide-195\" title=\"4\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><p style=\"color:#FF0000;\"><b>Heated Tooling<\/b><\/p>\r\nFor the Swift 141 project, Compmillennia designed both the heated tooling and the computer control system which managed cure of the carbon fiber prepreg\/foam cored beams which serve as the main structural girders for the megayacht\u2019s top 3 decks.<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-196 ms-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/compmillennia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/5-700x300.jpg\" height=\"300\" width=\"700\" alt=\"\" class=\"slider-134 slide-196\" title=\"5\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><p style=\"color:#FF0000;\"><b>Composite-to-metal Structural Joint<\/b><\/p>\r\nCompmillennia researched and adopted the composite bulkhead-to-metal deck joint for the Swift 141 project, necessary to attach the composite superstructure to the previous Dutch frigate\u2019s steel deck.
